Pamlico County Personnel Office
Department Mission
Pamlico County Personnel Department will implement policies to support effective job performance, fair treatment and safety for all County employees. This office posts, recruits for and fills open positions in the County; implements valid position classification and evaluation; and annually seeks the best feasible compensation and benefits. The door is open for initiation of, questions about, or changes to elected benefits, pay arrangements, leave balances, retirement tools and all other personnel issues.

Dates and Deadlines
- Leave Cards, Time Sheets Due Last Day of Current to First Monday of New Month
- Reports of Accident or Injury: Same Day or first day following, in person if possible
- Insurance Open Enrollment: June 1 - 30 each year
- New Positions, Reallocations, Abolitions: March 31 each year
All position openings are e-mailed to department heads and posted on the internal bulletin board by the Tax Office for one week before being advertised. If no qualified applications are received from existing staff, positions are posted with Employment Security Commission and advertised in local newspapers. The Employment Security Commission in New Bern accepts applications and delivers them to the Personnel Office after the advertised closing date. See "Positions" link on right.
