WELCOME to the Pamlico County Register of Deeds Web site!
The North Carolina General Statutes mandate the way in which we receive, record and index documents for our county. However, the pride we take in maintaining, safeguarding, and issuing some of the most valuable records a citizen will ever need is no obligation, it is a personal pleasure.
Some common documents we record are deeds, mortgages/deeds of trust, plats, assumed names, and vital records (birth, death, marriages and military discharges). We also administer notary oaths and maintain a record of all notaries commissioned in Pamlico County.
With the exception of our vital records, online index searches are available from June 1, 1988 to the present at http://cotthosting.com/ncpamlicoexternal starting with Book 253 Page 132. We are currently “back scanning” some of our older deed books; however, the indexes are not available online at this time. If you know the exact book and page number of the recorded instrument, those images can be retrieved using that information. Our future goal is to have all indexes and images available for viewing online.
We are here to serve you Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our office doors are always open so please feel free to stop by to learn more about your family history and the history of Pamlico County.
It is my personal pleasure to serve you—the citizens of Pamlico County. If I may be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to call me at 252-745-4421 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
